The Yogi Collection was founded in early 2018 by entrepreneur Ray Tyler and is based in North Carolina. It is named after his wife, Tierra "Yogi" Tyler, who passed away on March 3rd, 2017. Her unfortunate death was a result of maternity health complications.
The concept of The Yogi Collection started with the idea of bold colors on superior quality yoga leggings. Soon after that, the first designs for TYC yoga pants were created. As interest in the product line grew, so did the selection. Now our collection includes yoga pants, shirts, tote bags, phone cases, sweatshirts, socks, dad hats and more.
Combating a Crisis
In recent years, high rates of maternal mortality in the U.S. have increased and alarmed researchers. One statistic has been especially concerning. According to the CDC, black mothers in the U.S. die at three to four times the rate of white mothers. This is one of the widest of all racial disparities in women’s health.
By donating a percentage of all profits to maternity health research, and using women’s activewear fashion to bring awareness to this issue, our hope is to protect and save the lives of mothers.
Our Present and Future
Feedback from our customers has been overwhelmingly positive, often referring to our clothing as “the most comfortable ever.” Yet, our goal is to continue improving and expanding our product line. And staying focused on our primary goal of supporting women and motherhood.
